WorldCAN presents Green Tunes, a poem and song competition

Poetry & music have a deep rooted cultural expression in our communities. They cultivate a social consciousness in society about the issues we face and inspire us to take action for many causes. The greatest issue we are facing that effects every aspect of our communities, our country, and our world today and will continue to do so for generations to come is environmental degradation. Issues such as those with water, waste, biodiversity declines, soil health, and pollution are well known and affect everyone.

Green Tunes is a poetry and song competition that provides a platform for people to become a voice for the environment. Green Tunes calls on school students, college students, workers and homemakers, and professional musicians to harness the power of poetry and music to inspire our communities to take action for the environment.

A panel of eminent judges from the music industry will select the best poems or songs from across the state to win great prizes of cash and gold coins. The top 3 winners in each of the 4 categories shall be invited to perform live at the finale event alongside famous musicians and in front of thousands of fans including state and national leaders. The number 1 poem or song will win the grand prize of 100,000 rupees.
